A driver has been arrested for multiple offences after a stolen car travelling on the A1(M) was stopped by police.
Stevenage Police Intervention/Response Team 3 stopped a Vauxhall Meriva on Friday.
The car had been stolen overnight from an address in Essex, and in less than 24 hours was safely recovered.
The driver was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, driving without a licence, driving without insurance, and possession of cannabis.
A spokesperson for Hertfordshire police said: "Your local intervention/response officers proactively patrol alongside responding to emergencies, and continue to make Stevenage a hostile place for criminals to operate."
