Sports cars are designed to be fast, but some drivers went too quickly in there vehicles on Hertfordshire's roads, and the courts came down hard on them.

Here are five Herts motorists fined for speeding in sports cars.

1. Maximilian Newlan

On January 14, 2023, Maximilian Newlan, of Canning Road, London, was at the wheel of his Porsche when he was captured travelling at 132mph between Junction 8 and 9 on the M1.

The 31-year-old appeared at Stevenage Magistrates' Court, in December and was fined £1,440, ordered to pay a surcharge £576 and costs of £110, totalling £2,126.

Disqualified for holding or obtaining a driving licence for 12 months.

2. Bhapinder Singh Madahar

Bhapinder Singh Madahar, of Chetton Avenue, Coventry, was also at the wheel of a Porsche between Junction 8 and 9 on the M1 when he was clocked speeding at 99mph on the October 3, 2022.

Appearing at St Albans Magistrates' Court in October 2023, the 35-year-old was fined of £538 was dished out, with the defendant also ordered to pay a £215 surcharge and costs of £110, totalling £863.

Madahar avoided losing his driving licence, but issued with six penalty points.

3. Michael Miller

On May 9, 2023, Michael Miller, of Saxon Close, Appleton, Warrington, was clocked travelling at 84mph in a 70mph zone in his Aston Martin Vanquish on the A10 in Wormley.

The 67-year-old appeared at Stevenage Magistrates' Court on March 21 this year and was fined £660, ordered to pay a surcharge £266 and costs of £110, totalling £1,036.

Miller also received three points on his licence.

4. Selina Archer

Selina Archer, of Kimptons Close, Potters Bar was caught speeding in her hometown while at the wheel of her Porsche 911 Carrera on April 19, 2023.

The 41-year-old was travelling on Hatfield Road when her speed, recorded by means of follow check, varied between 60 and 73mph for a distance of 0.2 miles in a 30mph zone.

Appearing at Stevenage Magistrates' Court on February 1 this year, she was fined £120, ordered to pay a surcharge of £48 and costs of £110, totalling £278.

Six penalty points were also added to her licence.

5. Andrew Percy

On January 8, 2023, Andrew Percy, of Braintree Road, Stebbing, Dunmow, was captured speeding in a 30mph zone while driving his Porsche Cayenne on the A1000 Barnet Road in Potters Bar.

Appearing at Stevenage Magistrates' Court on November 9, he was fined £576, ordered to pay a surcharge of £230, and costs of £110, totalling £916.

He also had three penalty points added to his licence.
