Permission is being sought to increase the number of charging points at an electric vehicle forecourt currently being constructed on the Knebworth House estate.

Work on the GRIDSERVE Stevenage Electric Vehicle Forecourt began in November, with permission granted by Stevenage Borough Council in July 2022 for 17 charging points, allowing 34 electric vehicles to be able to charge simultaneously.

GRIDSERVE has now applied to the council for permission to amend the proposed layout, so the number of charging points can be increased.

The proposed change involves an additional six chargers, serving 12 bays.

The forecourt is scheduled to open later this year, with high power chargers that can deliver up to 360kW.

A spokesperson for GRIDSERVE said: "That means you can add 100 miles of range in less than 10 minutes."
