Stevenage locals are being encouraged to get active in 2024 by joining the Race for Life at a half-price discount.

The race, put on by Cancer Research UK, will return to the town in July and introduce a new feature, Pretty Muddy, for both adults and children.

A limited-time 'early bird' sale offering a 50 per cent reduction on the entry fee is currently available for those who sign up this January using the code RACE24NY.

Elisa Mitchell, Cancer Research UK’s spokesperson for Hertfordshire, said: "No matter how cancer affects us, life is worth racing for.

"Sadly nearly one in two of us will get cancer in our lifetime but Race for Life has the power not only to transform lives, but to save them.

"We’re proud that Race for Life has already helped double survival rates in the UK.

"We’d love for as many people as possible across Stevenage and beyond to join us at Race for Life. There is a race for everyone and we mean everyone."

Annually, approximately 38,400 individuals are diagnosed with cancer in the East of England.
