Comedian Jimmy Carr is set to perform in Stevenage as part of his new Laughs Funny tour.

The stand-up comedian and TV host - known for his distinctive laugh - will take the stage at the Gordon Craig Theatre for two shows on Saturday, October 5 next year.

The shows will begin at 7pm and 9.30pm, lasting 90 minutes each with no interval.

Tickets are already on sale from the Gordon Craig Theatre's website, priced at £37 each.

The Laughs Funny tour, starting in May 2024 and running until December 2025, will visit more than 100 venues across the UK and Ireland.

The publicity material for the show warns that it may not be everybody's cup of tea, reading: "If you like fast-paced, edgy one-liners then get ready to be happy. Jimmy Carr is going back on tour with his brand-new show ‘Jimmy Carr: Laughs Funny’.

"Jimmy tells jokes, and jokes are like magnets.

"Jokes attract people, but they can also repel. 

"Some people are repelled by Jimmy’s dark brand of comedy. This show is not for them.

"But if it’s the kind of thing you like, then this is the kind of thing you’ll like. "

The show will not be the first time Jimmy Carr has appeared on stage in Stevenage - he has previously visited the Gordon Craig Theatre for his Terribly Funny and Terribly Funny 2.0 tours.

Carr is a household name, known not just for his comedy but for his work on television shows include 8 Out of 10 Cats and the Big Fat Quiz of the Year on Channel 4.

His current tour, Terribly Funny, has sold more than one million tickets across the world.
