A celebrity is set to visit Baldock for the grand opening of a new retirement community.

Norton Place, on Icknield Way, will welcome famous gardener Alan Titchmarsh on Friday, November 3.

Alan will give a talk and demonstration on winter planting before performing a ceremonial ribbon-cutting at the McCarthy Stone development.

Anybody interested in touring the apartments can do so between 1pm and 3pm on the opening day, and they will be able to chat to Alan in the garden too - with sparkling drinks and canapes also on offer.

Ahead of the opening, Alan said: “I’m delighted to be invited to host the Grand Opening at Norton Place.
