Hitchin Forum is organising an Autumn Clean Up this month to help keep the town tidy.

The litter pick will take place on Sunday, October 15.

Hitchin Forum runs litter-picking events twice a year. At its most recent spring event more than 100 people of all ages took part and picked up litter in 15 different areas around the town.

Organiser Bill Sellicks said: "So many people are keen to help keep the town tidy and have supported our events for several years now.

"I would say that, with the exception of our event last March, we are generally fortunate with the weather.

"Even in March, the turn-out was fantastic and the enthusiasm inspiring. A growing number of groups and organisations are coming forward to join our regulars.
