The Stevenage family of a baby who "had strength like no other" have paid tribute to her after she died on Sunday.

When baby Daisy was born on June 19, she was diagnosed with two holes in her heart, TGA - where the pulmonary artery and the aorta are switched, faulty heart valves, and excess tissue on her heart.

Cared for at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH), with her devoted parents Emma Hart and Ronnie Klimek keeping vigil, Daisy had been due to have corrective surgery in August, but further complications prevented it.

Her family made a plea for prayers and support in the Comet, which Daisy's auntie, Katie, said "provided some comfort in the very darkest of days".

Devastatingly, however, Daisy went on to have multiple seizures and two strokes, resulting in severe brain damage.

When Emma and Ronnie received the shattering news that palliative care was the only option left, they were determined to take their precious daughter home for her final days.

Assisted by the palliative care team at GOSH, Daisy finally got to leave hospital and go home on Friday, with her parents at her side.

Over the weekend, her family surrounded her with lots of love and support, and her big sister Poppy read her a story.

Daisy died in the early hours of Sunday morning, cuddled in her parents' arms, surrounded by her loving family.

"She was the bravest soul I have ever met in this world," Emma said. "Her strength was like no other.

"Daisy was fierce and she got to be home and pass away surrounded by so much love. She is loved beyond belief by so many people. It's incredible.

"She fought so hard and we are so proud of her. She is beyond special and she can now finally be at peace."

Katie added: "I can’t tell you how loved Daisy was, and is, and how many lives she touched.

"She has been surrounded by love from the moment she was born, and even more so over her last days.

"Daisy should never have had to be brave, but brave she was. She fought on and on, beyond all the odds.

"I want her to have a beautiful send off, to honour her life and give her family all they need in order to say goodbye and lay her to rest."
