Fairlands Valley Aqua Park in Stevenage will remain open due to the current heatwave, Stevenage Borough Council has announced.

The splash park had been due to close for the summer season yesterday (September 3), but today a spokesperson for the council said: "The aqua park at Fairlands will continue to be open due to the hot weather until Sunday, September 17."

The free-to-use aqua play park features three splash pads. There are fountains and other interactive water features which spray, mist, squirt and shoot water around the play area, providing a fun and safe environment for children to enjoy.

The opening hours are 10am to 5pm.

The heatwave is set to peak this week with a high of 30 degrees on Wednesday.
