The first houses to be built as part of a development of 618 new homes on a 93-acre site on the edge of Stevenage are taking shape.

Redrow is building 253 new homes off Gresley Way as the first phase of a development of 618 new homes, a primary school and pre-school, and an 80-bed care home.

East Herts District Council granted full planning permission for the first phase in August last year.

The new housing estate, called Hazel Park, will include homes and apartments ranging from two to five bedrooms, 40 per cent of which will be marketed as "affordable".

Homes currently being marketed range in price from £481,995 for a three-bed semi-detached house to £719,995 for a four-bed detached house.
