Whether you're a thrillseeker looking for an adrenaline-fuelled adventure, or a family looking for fun outdoor activities you can do together, Lee Valley White Water Centre has something for everyone.
The London 2012 Olympic venue in Waltham Cross is home to a 300-metre white water course, 160-metre 'Legacy Loop' white water slalom course and a 10,000sqm lake.
White water activities include rafting, hydrospeeding and raft building. There's also family rafting on the Legacy Loop.
Meanwhile, activities on the lake include Water Wipeout, paddleboarding, kayaking and open water swimming.

I took my family to try out Water Wipeout and paddleboarding, and it was a fantastic day out.
When we arrived at the impressive venue, we were kitted out with wetsuits and water boots, which are available for an extra charge for some activities and included in the activity cost for others.
There are changing rooms and plenty of lockers to stow away your belongings.
Then we headed to the lake for Water Wipeout, where the enthusiastic instructor gave a safety briefing and fitted bouyancy aids, before letting us loose on the two inflatable obstacle courses.

The 60-minute experience is suitable for ages 8 and over, and is great fun, leaping over obstacles and whizzing down the slide at the end into the crystal-clear water - all under the watchful eye of the instructor.
We raced to see who could complete the course the quickest, and it's safe to say it wasn't me!
There was plenty of falling in, belly laughs and memories made.
After all that activity, it was time for something to eat at the Brew Street Kitchen and Bar, where you can sit inside, or outside on the spacious decking area and watch people going down the rapids.
All the food is freshly prepared onsite, with meal options including lasagne and fish and chips, and light bites including sausage rolls and soup.

There are a range of hot drinks, iced teas, and still or sparkling soft drinks. There's also a licensed bar, if you fancy a little tipple.
The light bites we had were all delicious, and just enough to fill our tummies before we tried out paddleboarding.
We headed back to the lake, where we were given a safety briefing and kitted out with bouyancy aids and helmets, before being briefed by our two instructors on the basics of paddleboarding. Then it was onto the lake to have a go ourselves.
This 60-minute session is suitable for ages 8 and over, with no experience necessary - just turn up and test out your balancing skills.

It's a lot of fun - starting out on your knees and then venturing to stand up. The boards are sturdy and it's a relaxing way to spend your time. The instructors also have plenty of tricks to try, if you're game - from spinning your board 360 degrees to doing headstands, press-ups and the splits on the paddleboards!
The staff at Lee Valley White Water Centre are friendly and helpful - from the reception and kit room staff, to the instructors and cafe team.
Whether you're rafting on the Olympic course or family paddling on the lake, you're sure to have an unforgettable day out.
