A new pizzeria is set to open in Letchworth on Thursday, August 3.

Lazzari's Italian Pizza will be a collection-only takeaway dishing up a selection of pizzas ranging from the classic Margherita, to the spicy Inferno and the ultra-cheesy Quattro Formaggio.

The pizzeria has been set up by Jonathann and Deividas, co-workers who decided to run the new business alongside their day jobs.

Jonathann - who has previously worked in restaurants and as a pizza chef - told the Comet: "Pizza is my favourite food, everyone likes it, so we said 'well, why don't we try something like this'? We have the experience, we have the idea, so let's do it."

Preparing for the grand opening has been "so complicated", with reams of paperwork to complete and jobs to tick off.

"But we've done it, everything is almost finished, and this week will be everything done.

"It's been a busy few weeks but everything's going to be fine!"

Jonathann says that their pizza will be "traditional", and different to the standard fare offered by some of the well-known chain pizzerias.

"Everything will be homemade and fresh, made by hand.

"The ingredients come from Italy - we wanted high quality and high standards. It will be pizza made like it should be."

Any customers picking up pizzas on Thursday, August 3, will receive a special opening discount of 20 per cent off their total bill.

Customers can also get the discount if they pre-order pizzas on Thursday for collection on Friday or Saturday.

Lazzari's Italian Pizza is based at 56 Maycroft, and will be open Thursday to Saturday from 6pm until 10pm.
