The victim of an assault in Stevenage was punched in the face and knocked from their bicycle last week.

The incident took place at around 5.30pm last Wednesday (June 28) in Fairlands Way.

According to Hertfordshire police, two young males approached the victim and exchanged words.

One of the males then kicked the bike, causing the victim to fall off.

One of the men then punched the victim to the face, causing a bloody nose and bruising.

No serious injuries were sustained as a result of the fall.

PC Denis Wisniewski said: "I am appealing for anyone who has witnessed or has information relating to this incident to contact the police.

“This was a terrible ordeal for the victim, and we are carrying out enquiries to establish the full circumstances around what happened.
