Families are being offered free use of a golf range and par 3 course, as well as pitch and putt, at Stevenage Golf and Conference Centre on Saturday.

Professional English golfer Andrew ‘Beef’ Johnston will also be making a guest appearance to meet and greet the community, and share his top pro-golfer tips.

From 8am to noon, families will have free use of the new TrackMan golf range.

The TrackMan range is a state-of-the-art golf training system. Using advanced technology, the system provides detailed feedback, helping keen golfers to improve their game while offering everyone the chance to explore new ways to play golf.

Equipped with interactive games, it’s also child-friendly, working to engage children with the sport.

Other free activities on Saturday morning will include pitch and putt, use of the par 3 course, and a ladies-only session with Andrew.

Allan Prescott, contract manager at Everyone Active, which manages the centre, said: "We are delighted to invite the local community to Stevenage Golf and Conference Centre this weekend, for our free family open morning, to celebrate the driving range and new TrackMan installation.

“The new TrackMan technology is a brilliant addition to the driving range, offering a way for keen golfers, amateur golfers and children alike, to enjoy the sport. With a range of free activities on offer, as well as sporting hero Andrew ‘Beef’ Johnston joining us, it’s set to be a fantastic fun-filled day!"
