Herts police are investigating after two men reportedly stole tools from a van in Letchworth.

The incident occurred between midday and 12.15pm yesterday (Wednesday, June 14) on Common View, at the corner with Norton Way North.

It is reported that two men, both wearing balaclavas, drilled into a Ford Transit van. Tools were then taken from the vehicle before the suspects made off in a dark-coloured estate car.

Police are now asking for any potential witnesses to come forward.

PC Harry Vines, investigating, said: “Our enquiries are continuing and we are appealing for anyone with information to please come forward.

“Were you in the area at the time and saw anyone acting suspiciously? Additionally, if you have a dash cam fitted and were driving in the area at the time, please check it as you may have recorded some crucial footage that could help our investigation.”
