The prices to play on the newly-refurbished tennis courts at Shephalbury Park in Stevenage have been revealed.

A free taster event on Sunday, May 21, will mark the official opening of the courts but they can already be booked online for dates from today (Monday, May 15).

Bookings for any of the five courts can be made on a pay-as-you-play basis, or via an annual membership.

Pay-as-you-play bookings cost £3 per thirty minutes, with no differentiation between peak and off-peak times. The courts are open from 7am until 9pm every day, and there are no floodlights.

Annual membership, meanwhile, costs £40 and allows you to play up to four times per week. Members can book courts up to 14 days in advance, and one pass can be used for everybody in one household.

Coaching sessions at the courts are also available. Junior coaching sessions for those of all abilities aged five to 18 range in price from £35 to £48 per player for a package of six sessions.

Adult sessions are available at beginner and intermediate levels, and cost £48 per person for six sessions.

Refurbishing the courts cost £110,920.13, funded by investment from the government and the LTA Tennis Foundation.

Bookings can be made online via the Shephalbury Park Tennis website.
