Another yellow warning for thunderstorms has been put in place across Hertfordshire.

Heavy showers and thunderstorms are expected to hit the county today (Thursday, May 11), between 11.30am and 7pm.

The Met Office is warning that this is "likely to cause travel disruption and flooding".

A spokesperson for the Met Office said: "Heavy showers will develop quite widely later this morning and afternoon, hail and lightning accompanying showers in some places.

"Some of these showers will be slow-moving and 10 to 20 mm of rain is likely to fall in less than an hour in some places whilst a few spots could see as much as 20 to 50 mm of rain in 2 or 3 hours."

A yellow warning was also in place earlier this week. Firefighters were called out to deal with 30 flooding incidents across Hertfordshire on Tuesday, with many roads in Stevenage under water.
