A 12-year-old music prodigy from Knebworth has made the shortlist of a national competition.

Kit Bottomley has made it to the final 30 contestants in the 8-12 year old category of Song Academy's Young Songwriter award.

His song is called 'Knebworth', and he wrote and recorded it after seeing Liam Gallagher play at Knebworth last summer.

Kit lives in Knebworth and goes to school in Hitchin, often busking in Hitchin town square and singing at the Lytton Pub in Knebworth.

You can see him perform at the Letchworth Festival (11.30am, May 7) or at the Knebworth Village Festival (afternoon, June 17).

Kit is now waiting to hear whether he will make it to the final ten contestants - the refined shortlist will be announced on May 12.
