A class from a Hitchin school has been shortlisted in a bid to find Britain's Funniest Class of 2023.
Wilde Class, in Year 6 at Whitehill Junior School, is among the ten finalists in the competition, which is run by the Beano comic.
If the class wins the competition, Whitehill will retain the title it won last year when Year 5 Voyager Class took home the prize.
Classes have to submit a joke to enter the competition, and an expert panel from the Beano then whittles the field down to a shortlist of ten.

Wilde Class's joke for this year's competition asked: "What did Gnasher want to be when he grew up?"
The answer?
"A Bark-cheologist!"
If they win a public vote, the class will receive a Beano trophy, an illustration of the class which will be published in the comic, Beano subscriptions and books, and a Beano assembly for the entire school.
Voyager Class's award-winning joke from last year asked "what do you call a class of children who eat potatoes using their toes?"
"The Mash Street Kids!"
Mike Stirling, editorial director at Beano Studios, said: “We love Jurassic laughs, and Wilde Class has dug up a new specimen by including Gnasher.
"It’s great fun to tell, too - the louder you ‘bark,’ the funnier it gets!
"Can Whitehill Junior School, Hitchin, home of Beano writer, Danny Pearson, claim Britain’s Funniest Class for the second year in a row?”
Members of the public can help Wilde Class to win the competition by voting for them online at beano.com/posts/britains-funniest-class.
