The partner of a Norfolk woman has paid tribute to her following her death and thanked the kindness of strangers for helping her fulfil her wishes and dreams before she died.
Craig Moore said Danni Day, whom he had planned to marry on May 11, was a "very strong-willed" person and "knew exactly what she wanted".
Danni was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2017 aged 29, enduring chemotherapy and hair loss.
Following treatment at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (NNUH), she went into remission a year later.
She was then dealt the heartbreaking news that she wouldn’t be able to have children, but two years later fell pregnant with her and Craig's "little miracle" son Bodhi, now two-and-a-half.
But in December Danni discovered her cancer had returned, and was diagnosed with secondary breast cancer that spread to her liver and was later discovered in her lung. It was incurable.
In the months before she died, Danni made a 'dream list' to complete while she went through her gruelling treatment, which included daily chemotherapy.
A GoFundMe was set up by her sister Natasha Rowland to help pay for activities she'd hoped to do, including walking with alpacas, a family photoshoot, zipping down the world's fastest zip wire, seeing Dirty Dancing in London and going on a first family holiday with Bodhi.
With the aim to raise £2,000, almost £12,000 has been amassed for Danni.
Danni died at home in Loddon on Sunday, April 16 surrounded by family. She was 35.
"I love talking about her," Craig said.
"She was a very determined person.
"More than anything, she lived for Bodhi.
"She absolutely doted on him. He was her main focus.
"There were things we'd planned and wanted to do.
"We had loads booked for the coming months, but she didn't do an awful lot in the end.
"There was a kind gentleman who did afternoon tea for us at Dunston Hall which was lovely, but things like an offer to use their holiday home in France we couldn't do in the end as Danni was too unwell."
With much of what was planned and booked cancelled or unfulfilled, Craig intends to use the remaining donations to tick activities off Danni's list with Bodhi, family and friends while using some to pay forward the kindness that was shown to us to other families facing a similar situation.
He added: "We mainly went out for nice food and afternoon tea.
"The donations meant so much to us. I struggled with the concept quite a lot because I hate people doing nice things for me or us. It makes me feel awkward.
"But people giving their own money, wow.
"It wasn't just the fact that money got donated, it was people - strangers we'd never met - offering to do stuff for us. It really took me aback.
"It was so kind.
"Without sharing the fundraiser in the paper, most of this wouldn't have happened.
"It was massively overwhelming.
"But we knew what was coming. Danni’s illness progressed much quicker than initially suggested.
"It's important for us to continue Danni's legacy in this way."
The activity on Danni's list Craig is most looking forward to is taking Bodhi walking with alpacas one day - the bucket list item Danni was most looking forward to - and creating memories with his son moving forward with animals which "were his mum's favourite".
This Saturday (April 22), 100 friends and family will walk 36 miles of the Boudicca Way from Diss Train Station to Norwich Train Station in Danni's memory - a walk originally organised to fund raise further for her dream list.
