Letchworth Arcardians Musical Society, which was founded in 1953, is celebrating its 70th birthday.

Seventy years ago, the group performed The Arcadians musical which gave them their name, and since then have presented nearly 100 shows and musicals in and around North Herts.

Shows they have performed include Oklahoma!My Fair LadyMe and My Girl and Into the Woods - and they have been joined by the Young Arcadians for shows involving children such as Oliver! and Annie.

For the 70th anniversary, the whole Arcadian family, young and old, is coming together to present Andrew Lloyd Webber's Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat.

Joseph will be performed from May 31 to June 3 at St Christopher's School Theatre in Letchworth.

Later in the year, on October 14, the Arcadians are holding a Platinum Ball at The Broadway Hotel in Letchworth.
