Citizens Advice North Herts has an exciting volunteer role opportunity with our Rural Outreach team.

We are looking for outreach volunteers across the district to act as ambassadors to raise awareness of the services we provide so those living in villages and hamlets know how to access support.

This is a flexible role which can be done remotely from home within the local community. You’ll need excellent verbal and written communication skills, a friendly and approachable can-do attitude and a desire to help people within your local community.

The role is likely to develop but initial responsibilities might include:

Forging links with local organisations.

Attending local events to talk about Citizens Advice North Herts (CANH) and explain who we are, what we do and how we can offer help and support.

Liaise with local media, for example, parish magazines, notice boards to place posters or information.

Help improve our local social media presence in local Facebook/WhatsApp groups

Provide clients with signposting information where appropriate

If you are interested in becoming a Rural Outreach Volunteer and live in or around Ashwell, Barkway  Codicote, Kimpton or surrounding villages and hamlets then we’d love to hear from you!

To discuss flexibility around location, time, “what you may do” and how we can support you please contact us by emailing our Volunteer Coordinator, Sacha Colman at volunteering@nhdcab.org.uk or calling 01462 688000.

Volunteering for Citizens Advice North Herts provides opportunities for you to learn new skills, make new friends and feel part of the community.

For many of our volunteers, it also offers a sense of purpose and satisfaction that comes from knowing they are making a real difference to the lives of local residents.

Our Volunteer Adviser role is well known (and we always welcome interest in that role!)  but we also we have a range of other opportunities available so please explore our website for more details: northhertscab.org.uk/volunteer/.
