We spoke to Dr Kamran Amjed, medical director and co-founder, about why he set up The Medika Clinic and the benefits of a personalised, all-encompassing health service.
Q: What were the reasons for setting up Medika?
A: We created Medika as a health brand to encourage people to rethink how they approach their health. For decades we’ve been programmed to accept the dogma that our health and appearance deteriorate as we age and to fix the problem once it becomes symptomatic.
At Medika, we want to allow people to take control of their health and lifestyle, so they can proactively maintain their health.
Q: Why did you decide to provide an all-encompassing health service?
A: Having been a doctor for six years, with five years' experience in the aesthetics industry and previously working for the NHS in emergency medicine, I learned early on in my career that to have my clients look their best, they also need to feel their best.
Our physical appearance is connected to our inner health and day-to-day lifestyle, so having a holistic approach at The Medika Clinic just came naturally.
Q: What treatments do you offer?
A: We offer a wide variety of services for health, aesthetics and wellness. We provide health checks with our doctors, including a 30–40-minute consultation, where we make a personalised health plan. We offer blood and hormone testing too.
We provide all advanced aesthetic treatments, from surgical thread lifts to Profhilo skin boosters, Cutera Secret Pro RF Microneedling and CO2 laser. Medika is the first and only clinic in Manchester to have this combination device.
Our favourite wellness treatments include tailor-made IV vitamin drips, plus our new Emerald Laser for pain-free fat loss that improves mitochondrial function and is offered with no downtime.
Q: What experience does the team have?
A: I have been a medical doctor for nearly seven years with over five years' experience in the aesthetics industry. I started my Level 7 diploma in facial aesthetics in London before going on to teach facial aesthetics since last year in training academies too. I have a special interest in skincare and lifestyle medicine, having worked with many professional athletes.
All of our therapists are Level 4 or above qualified and have years of experience and the highest standard of training to meet industry standards.

Q: What makes Medika stand out from other clinics?
A: We have machinery and treatments that are only available at The Medika Clinic in the North of the UK. Whether our clients want to book a general health check, routine blood tests or address other aspects of their general health and wellbeing, all our services are offered in a calm, luxury setting rather than the conventional clinical environment of hospitals and GP practices.
