Residents can have their say on the name of a new woodland in Stevenage's Fairlands Valley Park.

The wood, in the location's Southfield, has seen around 4,000 trees planted in January and February.

Ten schools helped to plant the woodland along with members of the community, residents, volunteers, council officers and councillors.

The shortlist for the new names of the woodland can be seen below:

  • Fairlands Forest
  • Kings Wood
  • Valley Wood
  • Coronation Wood
  • Fairlane Wood

Stevenage Borough Council's portfolio holder for environment and climate change, Cllr Simon Speller, said: “The planting of the new woodland was a wonderful effort by our young people and the community, and many thanks to all of you who took part.
