A Hertfordshire County Councillor has funded a day trip to Knebworth House for elderly and disabled residents from Stevenage.

Cllr Adam Mitchell has awarded a grant of £1,500 to the Diamond Silver Service, allowing for up 28 people, using three to four minibuses, to visit the house as part of a cultural experience.

This will cover the cost of the entrance to the house and gardens, a two-course lunch with tea or coffee and a tour guide, with the visit set to take place later this year.

"I'm delighted to be given the chance to support this award-winning group that is doing so much good in our town," said Cllr Mitchell.

"This project gives older people something positive to look forward to and reduces anxiety."

Cllr Mitchell's grant has come from HCC's Locality Budget.
