The closure of Plumstead Road East remains in place city-bound with a five-mile diversion in place via Woodside Road, Salhouse Road, the NDR, Thorpe End Drive and Plumstead Road back to Plumstead Road East.

Works, for essential drainage maintenance, are set to continue until March 31.

Thorpe Plant Centre sits opposite the South Hill Road Junction.

Ahead of the works, owner Paul Oxborrow was concerned about the impact the road closures would have on his business during what is already a quiet time of year.

He said that access to the centre is now much easier than it has been since the works commenced at the start of January.
