A bin overflowing with waste has been forcibly removed from its base and left by the side of a busy outer city road.

The red dog waste bin in White Woman Lane - off North Walsham Road on the border of Old Catton and Sprowston - was ripped from its foundation and left by the roadside on Monday, January 23.

The bin was reportedly flagged with Broadland District Council but remained there for a week, with dog waste bags strewn around it.

The bin is believed to have been damaged by vandals, with its base completely pulled from the ground.

A spokesman for Broadland District Council said there had been no reports of issues with bins in White Woman Lane.

However, contractors spotted the damage on Monday, January 30 and the post has been removed to be fixed and reinstated.

Issues can be reported to Broadland District Council directly via its website.
