Feedback is being sought on traffic calming measures implemented in Letchworth.
A speed compliance scheme along Norton Way North was implemented in 2021, and Hertfordshire County Council is now seeking feedback on this and its traffic calming measures.
A council spokesperson said: "We initially upgraded the road markings in 2017, but this did not produce a sufficient reduction in speeds to be compliant with the 30mph limit, which is why further works were needed to bring speeds down to appropriate levels."

These further works included:
- Four sets of speed cushions.
- A raised uncontrolled crossing near St George’s Church.
- New and refreshed tactile paving to assist pedestrians who are vision impaired.
- Improved pedestrian refuge islands.
- Localised footway improvements.
- Upgraded bus stops with raised kerbs.
- Upgraded street lighting with full night provision.
The council spokesperson said: "Following the installation of these works, speed surveys were conducted which showed that speeds have reduced sufficiently throughout the area in scope and this has achieved compliance.
"We are now seeking feedback to understand how effective these works have been for residents and other interested groups. At this point, we are not committing to any additional works."
