Now that the magic and festivities of Christmas are behind us, many will begin to look forward to the New Year.

Hopes and aspirations will be considered, along with New Year's resolutions and talking over the past 12 months with friends and family.

However, before the New Year can fully begin, 2022 has one last hurrah as New Year's Eve is celebrated throughout the UK and beyond.

With that in mind, here's seven New Year's Eve events taking place in Hertfordshire.

1. The Plough, Sleapshyde

The Plough at Sleapshyde is bringing in the New Year with an event that features "a stunning fireworks display, delicious food and fun".

The event will start at 7pm, and will run until 1am the following morning.

A BBQ and smoker will be producing food for the event, and music and drinks will see in 2023.

Tickets cost £45, or £25 for those under 18, and include two drinks tokens and a food token.

2. Builders Arms, Potters Bar

A New Year's Eve party will be taking place at the Builders Arms in Potters Bar.

A buffet will take place, along with DJ entertainment.

Glasses of prosecco will also be handed out at midnight, with the event starting at 10pm.

Tickets to this event cost £20.

3. The Snow Centre, Hemel Hempstead

A New Year's Eve party will be taking place at Hemel Hempstead's The Snow Centre, from 8pm.

The event will take place in The Lodge Bar and Kitchen, overlooking the ski slope.

A DJ will provide music for the event, with adults, juniors and families all welcome.

Tickets cost £15, with those under the age of three entering for free.

4. Corn Exchange, Hertford

The Corn Exchange in Hertford will be hosting an 80s night on New Year's Eve, from 8pm.

The event will feature "the ultimate 80s cover band" 6 Go Mad.

Tickets cost £13.20 each, and the event will last from 8pm until 2am.

5. Brookmans, Brookmans Park

A "proper Brookmans New Year's Eve party" will be celebrated in Brookmans Park.

The restaurant will host a three course dinner, including a glass of fizz.

A DJ will also entertain customers.

Tickets cost £65, or £15 to attend the party without the dinner.

6. The Royal Oak, Stevenage

Another New Years Eve party will be held at Stevenage's Royal Oak.

Limited tickets are available as band 'Revivals' play in the New Year.

The event costs £10 per person, and includes a buffet.

7. The Horn, St Albans

Covers band 'Allergy' will play at popular St Albans pub and music venue The Horn, on New Years Eve.

The New Year's party will also feature a balloon drop with prizes.

The event is open to all over the age of 18, with tickets costing £12 if booked in advance.

On-the-door tickets will cost £15 each.
