Residents woke up on Monday morning to find Stevenage and North Herts under a thick blanket of snow, with many venturing out to build snowmen and capture beautiful pictures of the winter wonderland.

Whether you're out for a wintry walk, sledging or building a snowman, plenty of beautiful picture opportunities arise when it snows, making some of our favourite landmarks even more picturesque.

Many took the rare chance to venture out into the snow, enjoying time with their children as many of the schools in the area closed for the day.

But the snow isn't just for children to enjoy! Pets of all kinds were pictured taking in the cold winter air, including little Marco and his owner Jo Kime.
