An 18-year-old Hitchin man has been arrested and charged in connection with a stabbing in Stevenage. 

On Friday, September 16, a 27-year-old man was attacked outside Lonsdale Court in Stevenage. During the incident he received a small puncture wound to his chest.

Omareo Bryant of Kipling Close in Hitchin was subsequently identified and arrested the next day.

Following an investigation by detectives from the Stevenage Local Crime Unit, he was charged with GBH, being in possession of a bladed article and being in possession of a quantity of cannabis.

Bryant was kept in police custody and appeared at St Albans Magistrates Court on Saturday, November 5.

He pleaded guilty to possession of cannabis and received a fine for this offence.

He is due to reappear at St Albans Crown Court on Monday, December 5, in connection with the offences of GBH and possession of a bladed article.
