Letchworth's Howard Garden Social Centre is "delighted" to be running its traditional Christmas Fair again this festive season.

On Saturday, November 19, from 10am until 2pm, visitors can enjoy perusing handmade items – from warm woollen knits, to delicious cakes – and beautiful and affordable craft items from local makers.

There will also be a tombola and a range of tempting prizes on offer in a raffle, drawn at about 1.30pm.

The centre welcomes members of the community all year round, but hopes to reach older people who live alone, who may be worried about challenges this winter.

Services that Howard Garden Social Centre offer include a warm welcome, a hot meal, good company and lots of activities to get involved in.

Emily Cunningham, centre manager, explained: “Howard Garden Social Centre is still getting back on its feet after the pandemic, but we’re delighted to be offering a growing range of activities alongside the chance for a chat and a meal that our regulars so appreciate.

"We know our service is needed, and we need your help to keep it here in the heart of the community."

Every penny that you spend at the Christmas Fair helps the centre to continue its vital work.
