A man will face a crown court trial accused of 53 charges including impersonating a Watford learner driver taking his theory test.

Simarjit Singh, 24, of Burnet Close, Leicester, is charged with possession of an article for use in fraud and fraud by false representation across the country, between 2019 and 2021.

He is due to appear at Worcester Crown Court for jury trial on November 22, after he denied or did not enter a plea for the 53 charges, in Worcester Magistrates’ Court on October 25.

In Watford, on August 6, 2020, he allegedly had another person’s provisional licence and impersonated that person who “was required to submit themselves to a driving theory test in order to obtain a licence authorising the driving of motor vehicles”.

Mr Singh is alleged to have committed the fraud “intending to make a gain” for himself.

He is also accused of similar fraud in Stevenage, Swindon, Uxbridge, Shrewsbury, Coventry, Dudley, Northampton, Swindon, Birmingham, Southwark, Grimsby, Aldershot, Nottingham, Wolverhampton, Rhyl, Oldham, Coventry, Stratford-upon-Avon, Worcester, Dudley and Stevenage.
