A Hitchin school is celebrating after being rated 'good' in its latest Ofsted inspection.

Our Lady Catholic School’s Ofsted report said that pupils "are polite and respectful" and the wide array of opportunities, trips and visitors means "pupils connect their learning with the wider world…and are well prepared for the next stage of their education".

Following a recent inspection the school, in Old Hale Way, has been found to offer a ‘good’ quality of education across every category.

Ofsted said: "Pupils’ personal development is supported well through the curriculum and the wider opportunities that are available, such as sport and music.

"Pupils learn to keep themselves and others safe, including online. Pupils learn about different cultures, their traditions and beliefs. Pupils learn to respect each other’s differences and celebrate diversity."

Headteacher Sarah Snowball said: “I would like to thank the fantastic teaching teams who have worked tirelessly throughout the pandemic to deliver improvements that ensure our school community thrives; our determined young people who continue to be a credit to the school; and our supportive families.”

The school was put in the 'requires improvement' category following an Ofsted inspection in June 2018.
