A Welwyn Garden City-based life sciences company has won two gold awards and is now through to the national awards.

Award-winning PHARMExcel, a full-service Contract Research Organisation (CRO), provides a flexible and innovative approach to clinical trial delivery.

The company won two awards at the SME Business Awards Hertfordshire; the SME Business of the Year Award and Yvanne Enever, founder and CEO of PHARMExcel, was awarded Businesswoman of the Year.

These esteemed awards are an accolade to an impressive year for the company which is recognised as a major player in early phase clinical trials. In the last year, the Contract Research Organisation (CRO) played a pivotal role in the world’s first Covid booster vaccination trial (Covboost) and the first into-man safety and performance trial of a new liver dialysis device study-DIALIVETM .

Yvanne Enever, CEO at PHARMExcel, said: “To win this award is testimony to the fantastic work our team does every single day. Since I founded the company 13 years ago PHARMExcel has experienced unprecedented growth and success driven by the hard work and commitment of everyone across the business and the exceptional service we always deliver.”
