Stevenage will start their FA Cup campaign for this season away to non-league opposition.
Steve Evans' League Two leaders will go to Gateshead after the draw for the first round.
The Heed drew 2-2 on Saturday away to Altrincham, ex-Stevenage striker Marcus Dinanga getting the equaliser 18 minutes from time.
Dinanga scored again in the replay at the Gateshead International Stadium, however, by that point, two goals in 60 seconds from Adam Campbell had given the home side the lead and they held out for a 2-1 win.
Gateshead are currently 19th in the National League after two wins and six draws in their opening 13 league games.
It is their first season back in the top flight of non-league after last year's National League North championship success.
The last time they met was in Stevenage's Conference winning season of 2009-2010
Ties will be played over the four days from Friday, November 4.
