A RETIRED racehorse now living in Comet country has made a return to the scene of his greatest victory – at Aintree.
Dunbrody Millar – known affectionately as Dobby – lives in Gosmore after being bought by Hayley Ward in 2009.
The former racehorse ran 58 times and won on five occasions during his career, including at Aintree for the Topham Chase in 2007.
He made a return to the scene of his greatest triumph on Thursday to take part in a parade of former racehorses.
Hayley, who has trained Dobby up in dressage and eventing with the help of charity Retraining of Racehorses, said: “Dobby is kept in Gosmore on my godparents’ land which is lovely for him and great as his former racing owners live either in the village or nearby. They frequent one of our village pubs which is how he has come to have his own fan club.
“He has had a nice long winter break and the plan will be to go eventing again when he will hopefully make the step up to the next level. He will stay with us now for the rest of his life.”
