A former councillor has been found guilty of burglary.

Richard Harman, of Denby in Letchworth GC, appeared before Cambridge Crown Court last week after he was accused of assault and entering a property in Ellice, Letchworth GC, as a trespasser with the intent to do damage on January 5 this year.

Harman was on trial for five days, which started last Monday.

The 51-year-old was found not guilty for a charge of actual bodily harm to a woman on January 5 at the Jackmans Community Centre in Letchworth GC.

Harman resigned from his Letchworth South East seat on North Herts District Council in September 2012.

He will be sentenced for burglary in the week beginning November 25.
