A second man has been questioned by police following alledged abuse at a former children’s home.
The man, who came in voluntarily, was questioned in connection with an investigation into abuse at St Francis Boys’ Home in Shefford in the 1960s.
A police spokesman said: “A 71-year-old man who was connected to the home in the 1960s, but was not employed by them directly came in voluntarily for interview at the end of November, he was questioned but not arrested. Enquiries continue.”
A 77-year-old man from Thetford has already been arrested as part of the investigation and is currently on police bail.
Police said the claims relate to four victims.
A total of 28 ex-residents have come forward with allegations that they were physically or sexually abused at the former boys’ home, which was run by the Northampton diocese of the Catholic Church.
The home closed in 1974.
