The family of a 24-year-old IT technician who was killed in a motorcycle crash on the A1(M) on Friday have paid tribute to “one of life’s good guys”.

Christopher Munsami, who had been working in Stevenage for the past three and a half years as an IT technician at Fujitsu, came off of his red Honda motorbike at around 7pm just before the Hatfield Tunnel while travelling northbound.

He was taken to Lister Hospital in Stevenage where he died.

Mr Munsami, who lived in Biggleswade, will be sadly missed by his mother Teresa, 52, sister Claire, 29, and his nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

From a young age Mr Munsami, who studied motorcycle engineering at Bedford College, had a real passion for motorcycles which continued into adulthood. He had recently been working on restoring his beloved Triumph Daytona, which he had almost finished.

Paying tribute to him on behalf of the family, his mum Teresa said: “Chris was a busy, happy go lucky person who would help anyone wherever they needed it. He was always the life and soul of the party, with a cheeky and cocky personality - he would always make everyone laugh. When he walked into a room, it would light up. One of my most treasured memories of Chris is when he took me away to Lanzarote for a week.

“Chris was one of life’s good guys, he never had a bad word to say about anyone and he was always doing something for someone – whether that was fixing a car, bike or computer – he was happy to help. We will all miss him so much.”

His family would like to extend their thanks to all of the people who have supported them during this difficult time. They have been touched by everyone’s kindness.

Mr Munsami’s funeral is due to be held at St Andrew’s Church in Biggleswade on February 26 at 11am.

• Police, who believe no other vehicle was involved, are appealing for witnesses to the crash to come forward. Call 101 if you have any information.
