A witness appeal has been launched after a woman had her phone taken out of her hand by a man on a pedal cycle.
A 30-year-old woman, from Stevenage, was walking through the underpass from Monkswood Way into St Georges Way 27 at around 9.15pm on Thursday March 27, when a man on a cycle rode past and took her mobile phone out of hand. He then rode on up St Georges Way towards Cutty’s Lane.
The man is described as wearing a grey hooded top with the hood up and jogging bottoms and had been cycling on the bike track up Six Hills Way in the direction of St Georges Way. He was riding a small bike.
Investigating officer PC Sarah Burkert said: “Although there was no CCTV of the actual incident we do know that there were a lot of people around at the time. I am hoping that some people will have seen the man on the bike and may have even witnessed the phone snatch and will be able to help us with our inquiries.”
Anyone with any information is asked to contact PC Sarah Burkert on 101 quoting crime reference number E1/14/1944.
