A school teacher has been charged in connection with fraud.

Samantha Gosnell, of Lincoln Road in Stevenage, was suspended from her job as a nursery teacher at St Vincent De Paul Catholic Primary School in Stevenage in January following her arrest.

The 41-year-old answered police bail on Thursday and was charged in connection with fraud at the school.

The married mother-of-two has been employed at the school for more than 12 years, is the elected staff governor, and has been actively involved in the Parent Staff Association for more than 16 years.

She has been released on bail to appear at North East Herts Magistrates’ Court on May 21.

In January, a spokesman for the school said: “A member of staff has been suspended without prejudice while the police investigate a potential fraud.

“We take these matters very seriously and are assisting the police fully in their investigation.”
