Jimmy Smith joins Crawley Town after just one season at the Lamex
Jimmy Smith has joined Crawley Town for a five-figure sum described as ‘low’ by Stevenage.
The midfielder spent just one season at Boro but will remain in League 1 next season with the Reds following Stevenage’s relegation to League 2.
The former Chelsea player told the Crawley Town website: “I have worked with John [Gregory] before and I’m delighted to be here and I’m looking forward to playing under him again.”
Stevenage have also announced that they have taken up one-year extension options on the contracts of striker Darius Charles and winger Lucas Akins while James Dunne, fresh from a successful loan spell at St Johnstone that saw him pick up a Scottish Cup medal at the weekend, has also had his deal extended by the club for another 12 months.
