More than 30,000 people turned out for Stevenage Day yesterday (Sunday).
The event, held in the town’s King George V Playing Fields, saw performances from local music stars including Britain’s Got Talent finalist Gabz Gardiner and The Voice contestant Nadeem Leigh as well as a host of dance and variety acts.
Gabz tweeted on the day: “Great day at my hometown for Stevenage Day! Thanks for supporting the local artists!”
Cllr Howard Burrell said: “It was a fantastic day that was helped in no small part by the wonderful weather.
“There were over 200 stalls for people to visit and I think it was a truly special event. The music acts were brilliant and there were all kinds of excellent novelty acts for people to see. It was nice to see an event to bring out the best in Stevenage.”
