Police in Stevenage are warning local residents to be on their guard following an unprecedented number of bike thefts in the town.
Since the beginning of 2014 there have been nearly 100 reported cases of bike theft.
To help trace a bike if it is stolen, people are being urged to register the security number of the bike with Immobilise – this is a free service, register at www.immobilise.com.
Anyone with information should contact the Herts Police non-emergency number 101. Alternatively you can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, where your information could net you a cash reward if an arrest or conviction is made.
