Villagers will hold a public meeting in Knebworth tomorrow to discuss plans to build more than 400 homes and a primary school.
A new protest group, the Campaign to Save Rural Knebworth, will hold the event in the village hall at 8pm.
Anyone is welcome to attend the meeting.
The main objections are that if the houses are given the go-ahead the village will increase in size by about 25 per cent.
They will also be built on conservation areas which villagers claim are flood plains.
