Recent form

Morecambe played four matches in December, starting the month off with a resounding 3-0 victory over title hopefuls Luton Town before succumbing to defeats away to Shrewsbury Town and then at home to Carlisle United.

Last time out, at Hartlepool United, Morecambe won 2-0.

Stevenage have won their last three league matches – the first time the club has achieved that feat since April 2012 – with Charlie Lee scoring in all three matches.

Away from home, Boro won just four matches on the road in 2014 but this included a victory at Dagenham and Redbridge on Boxing Day.

Stevenage are currently 10th in Sky Bet League 2, with Morecambe in 12th.

Team news

Scott Davies is set to play the last match of his existing loan deal for Morecambe. The goalkeeper joined from Fleetwood on a one-month loan deal in October before extending his deal in November, though the club remain keen on keeping him at the Globe Arena beyond this weekend.

Jack Sampson (ankle), Andy Fleming (knee) and Andy Wright (groin) are all out, but Laurence Wilson (hamstring) could be back for the hosts despite going off against Hartlepool last weekend.

Ryan Brunt is a doubt for Stevenage after the striker limped out of the 3-2 win over Cambridge United on Sunday. With Lee Barnard now back at Southend United, Chris Beardsley could come in to partner Charlie Lee up front. Calvin Zola is another option, but he has yet to feature despite being named twice on the bench in Boro’s last two games.

Jon Ashton, Connor Calcutt and Harry Worley remain long-term absentees.

Last time they met

The two sides last met at the end of November when Padraig Amond’s late strike earned Morecambe a draw at the Lamex Stadium.

Simon Walton had earlier given Boro the lead from the penalty spot following a foul on David McAllister.
