If you like football memorabilia then get set for the 2015 kick-off as Hitchin’s British Schools Museum opens for the new year on Tuesday.
In the display corridor of the historic building the new Up for the Cup exhibition will give visitors to chance to learn more about the remarkable sporting heritage of the Queen Street site and of the early days of the town’s Wilshere Dacre School.
Museum curator Andy Gibbs said: “We have put the many trophies in the school on display – and among rare programmes and cigarette cards we also feature Hitchin Town footballer Reg Smith who played for England!”
