Stevenage striker Kennedy set to undergo surgery on hip problem next week

Ben Kennedy is to miss the first four months of the new season.

The teenager is set to undergo surgery next week on a hip problem after breaking down in pre-season training.

The forward made headlines last season when he broke into the Stevenage first team before scoring his first two goals in senior football in the 3-1 win away to Hartlepool United in February

He signed a new deal with the club in February and was said to be interesting the likes of Spurs and Arsenal over the summer, while Peterborough United were also linked with a move for the 18-year-old.
