More than 500 jobseekers had interviews and submitted applications for vacancies at a Stevenage jobs fair.
The fair was held at the Jobcentre Plus in The Forum and featured more than 20 employers. Lucy Carr from the centre said: “We helped jobseekers prepare with interview techniques and CVs and encouraged them to research into the companies beforehand. It seemed like it went really well and we hope that some people who were out of work will get back into employment because of it.”
One company at the fair was Wenta, which advises people about how to set up their own business.
Jennifer Dong from the Wenta team said: “A lot of people would like to set up their own business and become self-employed but don’t know how to do it. We’re here to advise them and help them achieve it.”
